Program Overview

HVAC tech

Students will master a variety of HVAC skills as they relate to residential and commercial settings. Students participate in a variety of lab activities to reinforce the attainment of technical skills. Program standards are aligned with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).

Students in this program will learn proper material handling techniques, employability and communication skills, basic rigging, how to read construction drawings, how to use power and hand tools, construction math, basic safety, HVAC mathematics, copper and plastic piping practices, soldering and brazing, ferrous metal piping, basic electricity, cooling and heating, leak detection, evacuation, recovery and charging, how to troubleshoot heating and cooling issues, and sheet metal duct systems.
