Academy of Health Professions

All students enrolled in the Academy of Health Professions program can earn their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certifications before proceeding to their chosen track.

Program Overview

The Academy of Health Professions program uses project and problem-based learning, clinical experiences, and classroom and lab instruction to teach students about the field of health care. This is a two-year intensive program that emphasizes the foundation necessary for entrance into a variety of medical professions. Students can also earn state and/or nationally recognized certification as well as articulated credits in a post-secondary institution.

During the first year, the focus of study is primarily Anatomy and Physiology. The second year focuses on basic patient care skills. Students are instructed in professional conduct and safe practices prior to entering the lab.  Industry standard uniform is required.

Program Overview

This is a two-year intensive program that emphasizes the foundation necessary for entrance into a variety of medical professions. Students can also earn state and/or nationally recognized certification as well as articulated credits in a post-secondary institution. Industry standard uniform is required.

During the first year, the focus of study is primarily Anatomy and Physiology. The second year focuses on basic patient care skills. Students are instructed in professional conduct and safe practices prior to entering the lab. Students will spend one semester learning Certified Nursing Assistant content and one semester studying Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine content.
