Automotive Service Technician

Program Overview

The Automotive Technology program incorporates the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) program certification standards and the ASE Education Foundation standards. The program is a maintenance and light repair certified program. Each course is aligned to Industry requirements for certification and success in the automotive field. After graduation, program completers have the options of going to a dealership for on-the-job training or on to a postsecondary education (college or trade school).

Students in this program will learn shop safety, shop tools and equipment, how to prepare a vehicle for service, steering and suspension, brakes, manual and automatic transmissions, electrical and electronic systems, engine performance and repair, and heating and air conditioning.
